Renaming a sensor

Renaming a sensor

Usually, you’ll only need to change the name of a sensor if it is being moved or deactivated.

You can always edit your sensor’s settings by selecting ADMIN, Sensors, and clicking the pencil icon next to the sensor you want to modify. In the edit screen, you can enter a new name and possibly a new location. However, please note the following:
  1. If you only change the name and location, all previously collected data will still be associated with the sensor. It will begin collecting data from the new location, but in the archive, the historical data will remain linked up to the date of the move.
  1. You can also choose to delete the old data and start fresh. To do this, click the MOVE button. A dialog box will inform you that moving a sensor results in the deletion of all historical data. You will also be provided with a download link for the existing data.

  2. If you wish to deactivate your sensor temporarily and use it again later, click DEACTIVATE. Deactivation also deletes all historical data, but again, you will be offered a download of the data before proceeding.

  3. REMEMBER to remove the batteries from the sensor before storing it.
